Titan Community Membership Guidelines
Last Modified: November 15, 2024
1. COMMUNITY INTENT.
Created and managed by the co-founders of Titan Executive Network, LLC (“Titan”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and the Titan-powered Black Women Executive Community, the Titan community is intended to serve as a safe space for engagement and exchange among executive women who self-identify as part of, or a descendant of, the African diaspora. Whether you’re the CEO of a small business/non-profit, a senior leader in a global or large multinational corporation, or a retired industry guru now serving on boards and giving back to our community, the Titan Executive Network, brings together the most powerful and inspiring Black women across every industry. Through our sisterhood of abundance, we support and honor all things that elevate and inspire us.
2. OUR COMMITMENTS. (community guidelines)
2.1. We uplift one another.
We assume positive intent and when a fellow community member isn’t showing up as their best self, we approach the situation with kindness and support. We defend, support, and protect fellow community members and the broader community of Black women to defy stereotypes and negative narratives that would claim otherwise. We know true power isn’t loud and true strength doesn’t need to attack or overpower the meek.
2.2. We are worthy and we know it.
We command (not demand) respect by the nature of how we carry ourselves and how we treat others. We reject negative tropes like imposter syndrome, scarcity mindsets, and insecurity. We lean into the positive without creating toxic positivity. We’re open-minded and solutions based. And when we see other members of our community question their worth, we remind them of who they are! We’re not arrogant, we’re confident, and our belief in abundance allows us to bring others along with us.
2.3. We respect the privacy and safety of the group and its members.
We respect the privacy of our members and do not share their contacts or other personal information outside of the group without their explicit consent. We do not screenshot discussions within our safe space to share with outsiders. We do not exploit the contacts, access, or information gathered within our closed spaces at the disadvantage of others. More broadly, we aim to foster protection and psychological safety for all Black women. We believe Black women and we believe in Black women.
2.4. We are organized and accountable to each other, with an emphasis on growing our community with quality over quantity.
We’re operating in a network of trust with a promise to the community and to each other not to violate that. We are open and welcoming to those aligned with our intent and commitments. However, we are also not a monolith and therefore we will be flexible and value diversity of thought to the extent it keeps our community safe, strong, and effective for our members.
3. OUR OPERATIONS. (and a little bit of history for group transparency)
3.1. Owned and operated by Titan.
Titan has 4 co-founders, including Yenny Toone who originally created the Black Women Executive Community WhatsApp group powered by Titan. Yenny sought out dynamic women based on their alignment with the mission, their early commitments of time, effort and resources with no expectations in return, and consistent support since the launch of the chat in February 2023. These co-founders are Nathalie Lubin, Lori Rodney and Love Malone, and our honorary co-founder Cindy Kynard.
3.2. Channel Administrators.
We have administrators overseeing all Titan online chats and subgroups and maintain the right and authority to add or remove admins and group members based on a vote among the four owners and co-founders as required.
3.3. Nearly 500 (and growing!) general members and ~50 subgroups across geography, industry and areas of personal interest.
(a) As we’ve always operated as an independent community of Black women executives whose careers, experience, and/or reputations align with our intent. As we expand, the ability to add value to our group in terms of energy, knowledge, positivity, and commitment to sisterhood weigh just as heavily as title, career, experience, and power, if not more. Removal of existing members will be based on violations of community guidelines, gross misconduct, or determination that they do not align to the group’s intent.
(b) We have a waiting list of CEOs, CXOs and senior leaders from major national and global companies across technology, entertainment, pharmaceutical, higher education and other industries, all expressing interest in joining our amazing community! We are committed to maintaining the caliber of our membership with a quality over quantity approach. If you know a phenomenal Black woman who wants to join us, we welcome you to direct her to TitanExecutiveNetwork.com/membership and we’ll add her to the waitlist for thoughtful vetting.
(c) Titan reserves the right to reorganize our online subgroups as appropriate to ensure they are best structured to meet the needs of our growing community.
4. OUR CODE OF CONDUCT.
4.1. Generally.
To ensure the best possible experience for all members of our online community chat, we have established a code of conduct that supplements WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and Messaging Guidelines. 6. ENFORCEMENT AND REPORTING.
Violations of these guidelines may result in a warning, temporary mute, or permanent removal from the community, in our sole discretion, depending on the severity of the violation. The Channel Administrators reserve the right to remove any content that they deem inappropriate, even if it does not explicitly violate the listed content restrictions. If you observe any member violating these guidelines, please report it by emailing titanexecnetwork@gmail.com or directly messaging a Channel Administrator. The identity of those who make reports will be kept confidential and any retaliation will not be tolerated.
7. REFERENCE TO WHATSAPP’S TERMS OF SERVICE AND MESSAGING GUIDELINES.
Our community guidelines incorporate by reference WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and Messaging Guidelines, which all users agree to upon creating an account. 8. INTERPRETATION.
These community guidelines are not all-encompassing and are intended to serve as a framework that outlines the expected behaviors and practices within our community. It is important to recognize that these guidelines serve as a foundational reference and are not exhaustive. The essence of these guidelines is to foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. Members are entrusted with the responsibility to act in a manner that is consistent with the community’s ethos, to contribute positively, and to engage constructively, even in the absence of specific direction from these guidelines.
9. SCOPE.
These community guidelines apply to all WhatsApp groups, messages, and all other activity on WhatsApp relating to all community spaces, virtual and in-person, that are managed by Titan. These community guidelines apply to your access and use of Titan’s website, and to any other Titan product, service, technology, or other offering, where the applicable terms and conditions expressly reference these community guidelines.
10. MODIFICATIONS TO THE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.
Titan may amend these community guidelines from time to time, at its sole discretion, and, by continuing to access or participate in the community, you agree to be bound by the updated community guidelines. The date of the last modification will be posted at the top of these guidelines. It is your responsibility to read and understand the community guidelines, including any modifications.
11. CONCLUSION.
By joining and participating in our community, you agree to abide by these guidelines and help create a positive space for all members. Let’s work together to ensure our community remains a respectful, informative, and enjoyable place for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and contribution to our community’s success.
